On Friday, July 27 and Saturday, July 28, at 8:00pm, the Pittsburgh New Music Ensemble (PNME) will be presenting a work, “The Little Gray Cat and The Flounder”, an original work I commissioned in memory of my late life partner, Bernadette Callery, aka “The Little Gray Cat”. Music by Kieren McMillan, story by Kieren McMillan and Kevin Noe, based on forty years of loving cartoons I drew for her about our lives together. Performances are at the City Theater (at the corner of 13th & Bingham, on the South Side). If you have never attended a PNME performance, the first time is free. You can book your free ticket at pnme.org; if you wait until the night of the performance, the “First Limer” tickets are $5 at the door. One of the “acts” is a Shadow Puppet Theater, with shadow puppets cut on Protohaven’s very own laser cutter. If you miss these performances, there will be 24 more in August of 2019, but you will have to travel to Edinburgh, Scotland, to see them.
You can learn more about the cartoons at www.flounder.com/graycat.htm.
